Many thanks to everyone who came by the Continuum’s table at Carmike Bayou during the Star Trek: Into Darkness premier last Wednesday to Sunday. We had a great time meeting you all and hope to see you at our many upcoming events. Seventy-one people listed their contact information during the opening and several more took flyers. We’ve already made efforts to contact those potential new members and will continue to do so in the upcoming weeks.
As it was four years ago with the previous Trek film, the premiere is the greatest recruiting opportunity that we get to take advantage of. I want to publicly thank the management and staff of Carmike Cinemas, 5149 Bayou Blvd, for once again being great hosts to our group. We first had our recruiting table there back when they were the Rave during the last Star Trek film and we have since been there for all three of The Next Generation episodes that Fathom Events have put on in the last year. We hope to continue to work with them in the future.
It took a lot of work from different members from my crew to make this event a success!! Some like Connie Fleming, Luci Smith, and Mark Wright helped with the setup on Wednesday but couldn’t commit further because of other commitments. But others like Matt, Tammie, and Anakin Mote; Zach Joyner, Jonathan, Daniel, and Robin Hughes, and Ritchard Lee came multiple days to work the recruiting table. A big thanks goes out to Peggy Moshell who was there Wednesday evening and then the full day for Thursday through Sunday.
Our full review of the film will be coming shortly on a separate page as to not reveal any spoilers to those who haven’t seen the film yet.
