It has been an extremely busy time for the Continuum within the last four weeks! I, for one, have had barely enough time to read my emails, much less write any blog entries. We’ve been involved with the Region 2 Summit, the Great American Cleanup Kick-off event, Festival on the Green, Yuri’s Night Pensacola, and the Hubble IMAX Premier at NAS Museum. And this doesn’t even include all the behind-the-scenes work going on.
At our next ship meeting — this coming Friday, April 16 at PJC at 7 p.m. — we hope to reflect over the last month as we offer Certificates of Appreciation for everyone who was involved and a few promotions. We’re already discussing how well this year’s Yuri’s Night went, and how we can make Yuri’s Night Pensacola 2011 even better. Next year is the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s historic journey into space, after all. So expect some big things!
However, for the next couple months, we’re going to be shifting gears a bit. Outside of our yard sale on Saturday, April 24, we hope to have a few fun activities, giving us all a chance to take a much-needed break. We’re planning a camping trip for early next month, a stargaze party in June, and possibly a lock-in sometime. There’s also talk of visiting Kennedy Space Center before the year’s end.
We hope to see all of our members continue to be involved, as well as getting a few members to join our ranks as well. This is a very exciting time in the life of our group!
